6. Looney Tunes, Wile E. Coyote And Road Runner - (Ep. 35) - Highway Runnery (1965)

  • Duration: 390
  • Channel: tv

Wile E. Coyote And Road Runner (1949-2014) An iconic series of Looney Tunes short subjects made by Chuck Jones during The Golden Age of Animation. The Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner shorts are centered on the titular desert-dwelling duo, as the smart but destructively obsessive coyote does everything within his power (and uses everything within the ACME product catalog) to capture the elusive Road Runner for dinner. Jones explicitly modelled the Coyote's seemingly inexplicable persistence on philosopher George Santayana's definition of a fanatic: someone who "redoubles his efforts when he has forgotten his aim." And it doesn't help one bit that the Roadrunner is apparently aware of this and more than happy to exploit it to his own, cheerfully sadistic ends. Despite their surreally minimalist production design—very unlike the traditional Looney Tunes style—and penchant for formula gags, the shorts have remained hugely popular to this day. 40 shorts were produced in the classic era, and newer ones are still occasionally being created for theatres. They have made a comeback via CGI in The Looney Tunes Show. Fast and Furry-ous (1949), their debut, is a runner-up in The 50 Greatest Cartoons and also listed as one of The 100 Greatest Looney Tunes. Guided Muscle is also listed as one of The 100 Greatest Looney Tunes. These cartoons provide examples of: Accordion Coyote: This is often Wile E.'s fate after a long fall. Acme Products: Of course, it's a mystery how Wile E. can pay for all the stuff he orders from them, and a bigger mystery why he continues to do so, seeing as nine times out of ten, their products are the reason he fails. (One Cartoon Network ad hints that he's the QA tester for the company, but another one has him sue the company over all the malfunctioning equipment, gaining a prime-time slot as a settlement.) Affectionate Parody: The first short was made as a parody of "cat chases mouse" cartoons (and nature documentaries; the pseudo-Latin names are a direct callback to those), but audiences took it at face value and thought it was just something new. The rest is history. Amusing Injuries: Coyote suffers a multitude in every short. Anti-Villain: Wile E. Coyote is one basically just because he wants a meal. Too bad he's so bad at it. Anvil on Head: A Looney Tunes staple, reproduced faithfully multiple times. Arch-Enemy: Wile E. and the Road Runner have been going at it for more than 60 years! Art Evolution: The designs of the two characters did change a bit over the years, but this trope was more evident in the background designs. The first three cartoons had scenic, but fairly bland-looking backgrounds, which gave way to more abstract designs starting with Maurice Noble's arrival. They gradually got more and more unusual, eventually leading to some flat-out weird scenery in "Gee Whiz-z-z-z-z-z-z" before settling down into a more consistent style from 1957 onwards. Artistic License – Biology: Coyotes are nearly twice as fast as roadrunners and actually prey on them in reality. The roadrunner's best line of defense is camouflage and stealth, as he wouldn't be able to outrun Wile E. on open ground. Then again, he always chooses to run upright rather than on all fours, which leads to increased wind resistance - of course, this could be due to him being more vertically-centered than horizontally, like an actual coyote. Ash Face: Wile E. sometimes gets these when his contraptions blow up in his face. Author Appeal: Jones' take on Wile E. was heavily influenced by Mark Twain's Roughing It, in which the coyote of the desert is described in great, pitiful detail. Beep Me Up, Scotty: We all know it's "BEEP BEEP!" Yet for some strange reason, it still sounds like "MEEP MEEP!" Bear Trap: One of the many maligned ACME products. Bomb Whistle: Everything that falls, including boulders, anvils, and Wile E. himself, makes this sound. Boomerang Comeback: Wile E. gets hit in the back of his head by his own boomerang (naturally) in "The Fast and the Furry-ous". Born in the Theatre: At the end of one short, Wile E. pulled a standing sign onto the set. "Wanted: One gullible coyote. Apply to manager of this theatre." Born Lucky: NOTHING goes wrong for Road Runner. Sometimes the laws of physics are bent by him, such as going right through a brick wall with a fake road painted on it without getting hurt. Brick Joke: In some cartoons, an ACME contraption would fail early on and be ignored, until the Coyote comes back across it and does something foolish to trigger it. Butt-Monkey: Wile E. himself; in fact he never gets to be anything but. Iron Butt Monkey: Even for a Warner Brothers cartoon, it's amazing what the Coyote goes through - and then gets up and goes right back in. Canis Latinicus: Both parties receive a new genus/species name in this style before each short ("To Beep or Not to Beep" being the exception). In one short ("Soup or Sonic"), even the Roadrunner's beeps get a scientific name: "beepus-beepus".

Can we stop with the body shaming of Kelly Clarkson? Fox News anchor Chris Wallace and radio host Mike Gallagher recently mocked the 32-year-old pop star over her weight, in comments made on the latter's syndicated show. Clarkson, who gave birth to her first child more than nine months ago and who has often been criticized over her figure, has not responded to them. Meanwhile, Fox News host Greta Van Susteren has come to her defense. Clarkson has not responded to their remarks. Van Susteren, 60, posted on her website an excerpt of the interview, saying, "Chris Wallace owes Kelly Clarkson an apology" and "This 'guy snickering' about her weight is obnoxious." ►Circle us on Google + http://goo.gl/yZhhhc ►Subscribe Channel http://goo.gl/wtjPzK ►Don't forget to Like * Comment * Share this video. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stay tuned, Stay connected

15. 2017 Audi A7 VS BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo 2018

  • Duration: 392
  • Channel: auto

Audi A7 VS BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo Audi A7 2018 VS BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo 2018 2018 Audi A7 VS 2018 BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo 2017 Audi A7 S Line: The Audi A7 lineup retains the sporty S7 and high-power RS 7 for 2017, but adds a new, even more potent RS 7 Performance trim with 605 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. All A7s now get a Bose audio system and 19-inch five-spoke V-design wheels standard. The A7 3.0T Competition is also new this year, bridging the gap between the A7 and S7 models. S7 Models get a new Premium Plus trim level, and now have an optional Black Optic package for a more aggressive look. Overview: With the 2017 Audi A7 focusing more on performance and luxury than the equivalent A6, the A7’s engine lineup is much less diverse, and generally much more powerful. Currently there are two different engine options on the A7 lineup in varying states of tune. Each engine is backed up with a standard eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. The A7’s base engine is a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 that makes 333 hp in standard form, or 340 hp with the new-for-2017 A7 Competition Package. Torque stays at 325 lb-ft regardless of the horsepower output. The V-6-powered A7 is EPA-rated at 21/29/24 mpg city/highway/combined. The S7’s engine is more powerful still; it’s a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 that produces 450 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. The RS 7 shares that 4.0-liter V-8 with the S7, but gets 560 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque in standard trim, or a whopping 605 hp and 553 lb-ft in top-of-the-line RS 7 Performance trim. Fuel economy isn’t the point of the high-performance variants of the A7, but the EPA rates them nonetheless. The S7 nets an EPA-rated 17/27/21 mpg, while the RS 7 achieves 15/25/18 mpg. Aside from the variety of power outputs, the entire A7 line is notable for its sleek, edgy sheetmetal, gorgeously crafted interior, and technology, including Google Maps... http://www.motortrend.com/cars/audi/a7/2017/ 2018 BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo: The new BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo combines the long-distance comfort of a luxury sedan with the aesthetic appeal of a coupe. Its design embodies a rigorous process of development which has elevated both the functional strengths of this body concept and the car's sense of sporting elegance to new heights. A generously-sized, flexible-use interior, striking looks, supreme ride comfort and a luxurious feeling of space are among the features that made the BMW 5-Series Gran Turismo - the new car's predecessor and the first of its kind - unique. These attributes have been honed to a new level for the new BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo and are complemented by stretched proportions, significantly more dynamic lines and a muscular surface treatment. The car's new model designation reflects this progress. "The new BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo is geared towards discerning customers who place great importance on individuality. It is an eye-catching statement, packaged into a flowing, sculptural design language which gives the car a modern and sporty feel. The raised seating position ensures an imperious brand of driving pleasure, and the luxurious levels of space provide everything you need for a relaxing journey," says Adrian van Hooydonk, Senior Vice President BMW Group Design. Dynamically stretched proportions are a passport to sporting elegance: An exterior length of 5,091 millimetres (an increase of 87 millimetres on its predecessor), an unchanged width of 1,902 millimetres and a reduction in height of 21 millimetres (to 1,538 millimetres) give the new BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo dynamically stretched proportions. In combination with a roofline that flows deep into the rear end, they ensure an elegantly sporty appearance. Thanks to exhaustive optimisation of the cabin's packaging, the interior actually offers greater headroom despite the lower vehicle height. Among the other characteristic features of the new BMW 6-Series Gran Turismo are its long bonnet, the set-back positioning of the cabin, a wheelbase of 3,070 millimetres, doors with frameless windows, and a slim window graphic extending well into the rear end... https://www.netcarshow.com/bmw/2018-6-series_gran_turismo/

16. Tracy Morgan to Give First Interview Since Highway Crash

Tracy Morgan is finally ready to return to television. The Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock alum will appear on Monday's Today show, in his first TV interview since he was critically injured in a car crash last June. Apart from a few written statements sent out by Morgan's team and paparazzi photos that have circulated since the incident, Morgan hasn't been seen or heard from since the accident. The news of Morgan's first interview comes a day after he reached a confidential settlement in a lawsuit he filed against Walmart over the crash, which occurred on a New Jersey highway last June. Morgan suffered head trauma, a broken leg and broken ribs when a Walmart truck slammed into the back of a limo van carrying him and two others. Comedian James "Jimmy Mack" McNair was killed. ►Circle us on Google + http://goo.gl/yZhhhc ►Subscribe Channel http://goo.gl/wtjPzK ►Don't forget to Like * Comment * Share this video. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stay tuned, Stay connected

Wildly literate, utterly slackerly, impossibly romantic, absolutely a slave to the music, the 35-year old Texan is completely committed to the truth and unafraid to skewer pomposity, hypocrisy and small-minded thinking. In a world of shallow and shallower, where it's all groove and gloss, that might seem a hopeless proposition. Last year, "Another Like You," Carll's stereotype's attract duet of polar opposites, was American Songwriter's #1 Song of 2011 -- and KMAG YOYO was the Americana Music Association's #1 Album, as well as making Best of Lists for Rolling Stone, SPIN and a New York Times Critics Choice. But more importantly than the critical acclaim is the way Carll connects with music lovers across genres lines. Playing rock clubs and honkytonks, Bonnaroo, Stones Fest, SXSW and NXNE, he and his band the Gulf Coast Orchestra merge a truculent singer/songwriter take that combines Ray Wylie Hubband's lean freewheeling squalor with Todd Snider's brazen Gen Y reality and a healthy dose of love amongst unhealthy people. "I guess you could say I write degenerate love songs," Carll says. "That, and songs about people who're wedged between not much and even less; people who see how hopeless it is and somehow make it work anyway. "And the best kind of irony, sometimes, is applying no irony and letting reality do the work." Letting reality do the work has sure worked for the lanky Texan who walks slow and talks slower. Born in Houston, he went to college at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas -- getting a degree in History, then heading back to Crystal Beach to play for a wild assortment of people either hiding out, hanging on or getting lost in the bars along Texas' Gulf coast. After releasing Flowers & Liquor in 2002, Carll was voted the Best New Artist of 2002 by The Houston Post. He would go on to release Little Rock, on his own Highway 87 label, which became the first self-owned project to the top the Americana charts. It wasn't long until Lost Highway, home of Lucinda Williams, Ryan Adams, Van Morrison and the Drive-By Truckers came calling. Trouble in Mind yielded the tongue firmly in cheek "She Left Me For Jesus," a know-nothing redneck send-up/beer joint anthem somewhere between "You Never Even Called Me By My Name" and "Up Against the Wall." "Jesus" was the 2008 Americana Music Awards Song of the Year. http://www.hayescarll.com/ ROUGHT TO YOU IN ASSOCIATION WITH: Intermusic Bondi Junction http://www.intermusic.com.au Ravesis Bondi Beach http://www.ravesis.com.au Madison Entertainment http://www.madent.com.au Tune in again to BalconyTV // BalconyTV SYDNEY Crew Executive Producer Justine Moyle Camera Joe Audio Engineer Sam Salerno Audio Engineer Matt Stalgis Stills Karl Broadie

Whether roaring as their big six piece string band or swinging the lonesome ballads as a two piece and averaging over 200 shows a year, the eastern can hold it down in all settings for all comers. Constantly on tour the eastern have played all over New Zealand and parts beyond from gore to Nashville, Shirley to Sydney they've held it down and treat any opportunity as a chance to plug in a play. They've toured with Steve Earle, the Old Crow Medicine Show and the Lil' Band of Gold as well as opening for everyone from Fleetwood Mac to the Jayhawks to Jimmy Barnes to Justin Townes Earle as well as Jim White, Victoria Williams and Vic Chestnut. Their self titled debut album was released in 2009 and debuted straight into the top ten of the new Zealand indie charts based only on a ferocious live reputation and a belief in the old fashioned concept of playing for people, having made album of the week status in the Sunday star times and the chch press its sold out of its first run and continues to gather friends for the band far and wide. In 2010 they released 'Arrows' tight on the heel's of a year which would see most bands wilt at the workload, The Eastern recorded the album in January started touring in February, released the record 1st of march and have been on tour ever since up and down New Zealand. It's been a thrill to see the work pay off with the record selling faster than they can print it, bar rooms full of repeat listeners and new friends alike and a growing audience who seem to care as much about the band as the band cares about them. 'Arrows' has been a watershed for the band and the response to the record has kept them on tour most of 2010 and through the summer of 2011, in may it was released in Australia and the band have hoped in the van and started runnin' round those Australian highways also. Due to start recording their new album in Feb. plans were waylaid by the chch earthquake, instead they gathered up friends and singers alike in their home town of Lyttelton (chch's port) and begin work on the charity record 'The Harbour Union', just released the album debuted in the top 20 of the Nz Charts and has proved to be a wonderful vehicle through which the eastern and their friends can trade music for donations to the chch earthquake fund. The rest of 2011 sees The Eastern on tour through Australia, a third trip back to the states and finally the recording of their anticipated third album. www.forteastern.com TUNE IN AGAIN TO BALCONYTV MELBOURNE!!!

BALCONYTV.COM 21/07/2008 PRESENTED BY PAULINE FREEMAN After many months of sonic construction and underground whispering, Dublin's Stand released their fourth album proper, "Travel Light" onto the world last November. Sessions were booked. Release dates were nudged. Tracks were pulled apart limb from limb and put back together in novel ways. What emerged can only be described as their strongest body of songs to date. Mr. Walsh wore the producer hat, sifting through the do's and dont's, letting the songs core breathe, giving a fine "Slan" (Goodbye) to tiresome layering. The melodies carry the weight. This album finds Neil and Alan in fine voice. Michael McCoy made sure tracks didn't need redoing because the kick drum microphone was left unplugged. Chief engineer of the Hit Factory in NY, his craft, humour and tendency to 18hour sessions kept spirits afloat. The venues: Buffalo, Rhinebeck, Manhattan, NYC and Lexington KY. Work started in a northern blizzard and finished under a southern sun. A departure from the guitar based work of their 2004 work Transmissions, Stand are feverishly proud of the songs recorded here and as always, are working them out on the road as the van barrels on down the highway. Developing their songs and moving records from the van and their NYC headquarters, these four very different guys, in the most magical way of the best bands to do so before them, merge into one upon taking the stage. http://www.myspace.com/standland http://www.standland.com Tune in again tomorrow!!!
